Stepper motors and servo motors are commonly used motors in the fully automatic labeling machine industry in China. For example: labeling machine, labeling machine, etc. Stepper motors and servo motors have the same control method. It is an application of digital control technology. Stepper motors are suitable for ordinary machinery, such as automatic labeling machines. For example, if the speed requirement is not high and the accuracy requirement is not particularly high, a stepper motor can be used as the execution motor first. If the labeling speed requirement is high, the label is small, or the object is small, servo control is better to choose. The cost of servo motors is higher than that of stepper motors. Whether to choose stepper or servo depends on the customer's requirements. Choosing the most suitable one is the most important thing.

In terms of performance comparison between the two, six major differences can be summarized.

1. Speed response performance: A typical stepper motor takes 150-400 milliseconds to start, while a servo motor only takes a few milliseconds.

2. Control accuracy: Servo motors have higher control accuracy than stepper motors.

3. The situation that occurs at low frequencies: Stepper motors are prone to low-frequency vibration at low speeds, while servo motors do not.

4. Torque frequency characteristics: The output torque of a stepper motor decreases with increasing speed and sharply decreases at higher speeds. Its highest speed is between 300RPM and 600RPM. And the servo motor has a constant torque output.

5. Overload capacity: Stepper motors generally do not have overload protection capabilities, while servo motors have strong overload protection capabilities.

6. Operational performance: The control of the stepper motor is open-loop control, and excessive starting frequency or load can easily cause disturbances. Therefore, it is necessary to handle the issues of speed increase and decrease. The servo motor adopts closed-loop control, and the driver directly samples the motor encoder, so the control performance is more reliable.
